10 snack ideas for busy people

The reality of life; we all looove to snack and we’re all busy. Whether it is;

social commitments
health commitments
family time
alone time
the list goes on…

When you’re busy and you’re feeling unprepared you need quick, easy snack ideas or hellloooooo vending machine full of chocolate and chips.

10 snack ideas for busy people

  1. Sliced banana or sliced apple with nut butter or peanut butter (I’m particularly obsessed with the sliced banana at the moment!)
  2. Nut and seed mix
  3. Berries with yoghurt
  4. Veggie sticks with dip
  5. Sliced watermelon (another particular favourite of mine at the moment)
  6. A pickle (yep, grab one straight from the jar)
  7. Avocado & smoked salmon or tuna on a rice cake
  8. Hard boiled egg
  9. Chia pudding
  10. Air popped popcorn

Some you can prepare on a Sunday ready for the week. Some you can make as needed. The key to anything is having the ingredients ready. Whether you store them in your cupboard at home, or your draw at work, the kids pram, your handbag or even your gym bag. Have snacks that are ready to grab and go.

Goal of your snack?

You have three simple goals for your snack, easy, nutritious, satiating (meaning fills you up). So when you’re looking at your snack options, ideally you want it to have some form of protein where possible as this is the most filling type of snack, most of the suggestions above include a portion of protein. But not all. You need to decide what kind of hunger you’ve got going on, boredom (air popped popcorn tends to fill this hole) or real hunger (this is when a protein included snack is important) and choose a snack from there.
